TGIFF: Sparkle Punch pillow

When I realized that I was not going to be able to persevere and make an entire Sparkle Punch quilt, I decided that a pillow cover would be the next best thing, right?

Kate Spain "Joy", Kona Ash, some red with white dots Christmas fabric from the local fabric store, and we have a fun 18" square cushion cover!

I did my usual simple envelope back, but for the first time I finished the edges with a binding, and I LOVE it.  It adds a nice border to the cushion of course, but it also means that there are no raw edges on the inside of the cover.  Score!

This cover  was a lot of fun to make, but since I have use for no more cushions in my own home at this point, the cover will find its home (hopefully temporary!) in my etsy shop.

It's beautiful! I haven't tried binding a cushion before... is it similar to binding a quilt?

That polka dot binding is the best! I really like how you used pebble quilting on this one too. It adds such a nice layer of texture to the geometric stars. Thanks for linking up to TGIFF!

Super cute! I did an 18" square pillow cover with that sparkle punch block and it was tedious. I think that pillow cover took me as long as all of the other 3 I made combined.

I love how you used binding to cover up the seam. Why has it never occurred to me to finish a pillow that way before? And the fabrics are great too.

Very cute, I'm sure it won't be in your shop long!
This pattern has been on my to do list forever....a cushion might be the only way to go at this point! lol

Adorable! Great work. I'm working on my own Sparke Punch right now, and you're right. It definitely takes perseverance :)

That's a very cute pillow! I love the binding around the edges, it frames it so nicely.

How CUTE! I love the polka dot binding--perfect! One thing I have decided this year--not every pattern or idea needs to become a full-sized quilt. This is a perfect example.
