{Sew Mama Sew} Giveaway Day!

Comments are now closed. Thanks to all who participated. Our winner is comment #102, Kate!

It's Giveaway Day over at Sew Mama Sew, and this is my first year participating! I would like to welcome anyone visiting my blog for the first time....I hope you'll stay a while!

** Before commenting, PLEASE remember that you must include an email address either directly in your comment OR accessible through your profile. I have had many many comments that did not include an address, therefore are not valid entries. No email address = no entry. Thank you! **

Up for grabs today is a set of two handmade-by-me potholders, made using Hometown fabric, by Sweetwater for Moda. These are very thick, with two layers of Insul-Bright heat resistant batting, so they would also make great pads for placing hot dishes on the dinner table.

In order to enter the giveaway, all I ask you to do is leave one comment telling me what sewing machine you use, just because I want to know. :)

Comments will close on December 16th at 5pm (PST), and I will use a random number generator to choose the winner. I will notify the winner by email so please be sure that an email address is in your comment OR is accessible through your profile.

International entries welcome. Good luck!

I use a Kenmore because that is what my husband bought me for Christmas a few years ago. Before that I had a beginner's Brother machine because my dad bought it for me for my birthday because my sister told him to because she couldn't sew anymore and was living vicariously through me. So even if I never wanted to sew I got pushed into it and I love it. My Kenmore is pretty awesome.

I have an 11 year old Singer that my parents got for me for a wedding present. I doubt they had any idea that I would save hundreds of dollars using it over the last 11 years to alter my husband's navy uniforms. My mom just knew that I was leaving behind her sewing machine and she had decided, after 20 years of not being used by anyone but me, that she was going to start sewing and wouldn't part with hers. I don't know what I would do without my machine. I use it all the time (and not just for uniforms, thank goodness, as that would be incredibly monotonous).

After a tough semester of college, I sold back my old textbooks and went straight to Walmart. I got the only one I could afford- a Brother that only does straight and zigzag and I can't even drop the feed dogs. But it has sewn A LOT and served me well. I spent that summer teaching myself to quilt and sew, and many years later that machine is still getting the job done!

I love your potholders!
I sew on a Brother Innovis 900. It`s a very small but functional machine. You also can stitch little images with it. The machine is absolutely reliable and has lots of extras. But: she`s to small for quilting. That`s why I save money for the Janome Horizon (dream!).
Have fun with these Giveaway days!

I simply adore Hometown! My machine is a Janome 625E Sewist, and I love it. It has all of the nicer features in a little less [expensive] machine!

I sew on a Janome Gem - it's the most basic of the Janomes but it gets (most) jobs done. When I need something more involved, I see out my friend's Husquvarna!

Thank you for the lovely giveaway. I use a Janome 2200XT and I love it! Had it a year now and it hasn't failed me yet.

I have a basic Bernina in storage in NZ. Unfortunately I can't use it here in the US because the power system is different... so I have an ancient unidentified machine bought cheap from a friend.

I have a Singer - something like an easy quilter...can't remember the exact name. Free motion quilting, etc. Don't love it...just being honest. Seems to have timing issues frequently, but not sure if I just got unlucky or not. Only had it a little over a year. Other than the timing issues, it seems to work really well, but I've never had a fancy schmancy, so I'm probably not the best person to ask:)

Great pot holders...thanks for the chance!
