Things have been very scrappy around here lately, haven't they? This particular one started out as a cover for my sewing machine, and ended up as a wall hanging to go above my sewing machine! The majority of the prints came from Elizabeth when I won a giveaway on her blog. She asked which colours I liked, so naturally I loved the selection of charm squares that she cut for me from her own stash.
The gray background fabric was mostly leftovers from Chrysalis. I did have to order a little bit more to finish this off, and then ended up using pretty much the last little bit to make the binding so it worked out perfectly.
I decided to quilt this with very minimal diagonal lines, and I like it! It's just enough to still allow the colourful prints do most of the talking!
For the first time, I made a hanging pocket on the back following this tutorial at Stitched In Color, which was so easy and I will definitely do it again on future small projects. I do still need to buy a skinny dowel to hang it properly, but since I'm impatient I straightened out a wire clothes hanger as well as I could and am using that for now. :)

SO darling, Heather!! I am itching to do a scrappy project too - soon I hope! Love your sewing corner too!!
It`s fantastic!
gorgeous and so perfect hanging in your sewing space! love those little cherries :)
I'm totally in love with your scrappy wall hanging..just perfect to hang it next to the sewing machine :)I hope it's alright that I pinned it on my pinterest.
Oh I love it! It's scrap-tastic in a restrained sort of way - grey mellows it out and makes those colours pop.
So nice Heather. The grey is a wonderful frame for the bright colours and I really like the on point layout.
Oh, this is really sweet! I love it. I'm glad it worked out as a wall hanging!
super cute! it really pops against the red wall.
I like it!
I love both of your scrappy finishes! The postage stamp quilt is gorgeous (and yes I also find it hard to line up all those little corners!). Your mini looks so great hanging above your sewing machine. :)
Your little quilt is darling, too cute to just cover the sewing machine when it could grace your wall for all to see. Thanks for sharing.
Oh I love what you have done with the scrappy charms that I sent you! Wow, it looks great on the red wall above your sewing machine : ) What a fun quilt.
This is beautiful!! :) Found you from Canoe Ridge Creations and am your newest follower! :)
It's beautiful Heather! It looks great against your red wall!!!
awesome. it looks divine hanging there :D
It's so perfect behind your machine Heather! I love designs turned on point like that.
Very, very cute! I love the color set against the grey. And scrappy is always better than crappy... right? ;)
Jennifer :)
Oh, Heather, I LOVE your mini! Those colours rock and I like the diagonal setting. It looks great up on that wall too.
Very pretty!! I used gray for a paper pieced block I'm making and I love it. I haven't used a color as a background - my preference is white on white fabric.
It looks great on the red wall! Very nice.
SUPER cute, Heather! And those mitered corners are beautiful. Nicely done!
That is so pretty, and looks fantastic against your red wall. Great finish! :o)
