I was feeling all proud of myself this week for finishing a W.I.P., when I realized that it was a new W.I.P. that I had just started in the last few weeks. Oops! It's so easy to ignore the old W.I.P.s! But I think I know what it is - it's much easier to commit to finishing a baby quilt than a large throw quilt. So here's the project that I'm going to work on this week....
There's an 11yr old under there, in case you were wondering. ;) He's quite fond of the fleecy backing that I'm using. hehe So as you can see, I got my Brrr! quilt basted. Unfortunately though, I think I'm going to have to re-baste it. If I thought the minky was stretchy, this fleece is much worse. And I think the problem is that I stretched it out too much when taping it down to baste, and while it was nice and smooth and basted really easily (the fleece is very easy to pin through), as soon as I removed the tape it all pulled in enough that I could see that I could run into problems when quilting. It shouldn't be a big deal to re-baste and I'll get it done today. Would much rather be moving onto quilting though!!
This is the binding, all ready to go. These two fabrics were in the Brrr! FQ bundle but I didn't use them for the blocks, keeping the binding in mind. I cut strips and alternated the two different colourways when I pieced them together, and believe it or not two FQs will be more than enough to bind a 55"x75" quilt. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much binding I ended up with.

Love the binding stripes! I'm supposed to be piecing some.backing right now...maybe after my coffee's finished motivation will set in!
Haha, I was wondering what was bundled up in the quilt! It looks really cozy, and your binding is adorable! :)
Basting once is bad enough but twice? Good luck in getting on to the quilting - it's a lovely feeling when the binding is all ready to go!
I love your color combination! I can't wait to see the finished product!
Perfect binding fabric!
The Brrr quilt looks lovely, and so nic to see it being used already:) The stripey binding is perfect too!
excellent! oh that binding will look so fantastic, good luck with the quilting!
Love the binding! Darn about the basting. Erk!
The quilt looks great. It is so painful to have to re-baste something, but I"m sure you will be happier with the result!
Ha! A WIP is a WIP in my book. ;) Great finish btw! I have to rebaste a quilt that I also backed in fleece for the same reason. I used spray baste the first time around, but pins are definitely the way to go.
Love the binding!
The binding looks awesome! Good luck with the fleece...
I think you've found a recipient for the quilt! I love the striped binding.
