I like Connecting Threads and Coats & Clark, I've always had good results with both and the price is right!
My fav(s) are Aurifil for everyday use and some King Tut for fun variegated machine quilting.
I have used Gutterman just because that was what I was told to use. I did use some King Tut from Superior Threads and really liked it a lot!!! Still hoping to try some Aurifil soon.
No favorite thread. To quilting and sew I use gutermann threads and to redwork Presencia Finca perle! Thanks for the chance!
I am still exploring threads, I like Gutterman right now though!
My machine seems to be the most fond of Aurifil. Thanks for the giveaway!
I've used a lot of Connecting Threads because I love the price :) I had trouble quilting with it in my new machine but I think that's more my machine than the thread!
Currently Gutterman; however I'm tempted to try Aurifil after hearing about it.
I am a long time reader and I love your blog!
I LOVE Connecting Threads but lately have been using a machine that WOULD NOT WORK with anything but Guterman. I'm excited to say I just got a new machine (the Singer 160 anniversary machine) and I believe my collection of Connecting Threads will work, so I'm really excited. I love the feel of the thread as well as the color range, and this color is not one I have! I'd love to win it!
I don't have a favorite thread, i'm still in the denial to splurge stage of quilting :( haha
I like Mettler thread. It doesn't break as much and I can sew as fast as I want to.
I'm a Guterman girl, but really it's only because that's what is available here. I love hearing about other people using gorgeous silky threads, but I can't get my hands on any to try ;)
I usually like Gutermann, but recently a lot of people have been blogging about all sorts of different threads and it has me wondering if I should start shopping around.
I typically like the Coats & Clark line as it seems to have a huge variety of colors and weights. And it also seems to last longer than the Gutermann (though it's a more limited experience!)
Thanks for the lovely offer!
elizabeth.waligora@gmail.com
I am a big fan of connecting threads, their threads are really nice
I use Coats & Clark, or whatever it's called, because I bought a ton at a closing sale. I've wanted to try Connecting Threads, but not till I finish my thread stash.
I'm a Connecting Threads fan. Although I don't have every color yet, I'm working on it! ;o)
Aurifil thread for sure!
I've recently tried Aurifil and I am in love with it!
I use Gutermann because it's available here, affordable, and predictable - I always know what it's going to do. :)
Thanks, Heather!
I don't really have a favorite thread. I like using variegated threads when I quilt, just because I like to see the effects it creates
I don't have a favourite thread yet, I pretty much use whatever I can get my hands on.
i am still using what ever until i win some so i can try it
Hi, I am new to longarming so I am just learning about all the threads, but so far I like the coats and clark brand and I am going to order some of the essential pro online...would love to win this cone to try it first! The fabric is very cute...
Thank you Heather for a lovely give away! I use different threads and often Greek Cotton.
nerospost(at)gmail(dot)com
i don't have a favourite thread... i tend to buy what's of good price and doesn't seem like it's gonna disintegrate...
you can reach me at supersharmie at gmail dot com :)
i usually use guttermann....
Hi Heather! So great of you to join this giveaway! The fabric is beautiful and I haven't tried this thread yet. I am a convert to Auriful for piecing.
I don't really have a favorite thread, I just go and find whatever matches my project the best. Thanks for the giveaway!
I really like Superior threads So Fine, and Aurifil. A little more spendy, but the quilting result is awesome.
I love using Aurfil, but it is a bit pricey. thank you for the chance to win
I guess I don't specifically have a favorite, but I use Gutterman because I can afford it. =)
Thanks for a lovely giveaway.
I was a Gutterman girl for many years. Never got what all the thread fuss was about. Thread was thread. Then I tried Aurifil, and now I am an Aurifil convert.
I like Gutterman, but will buy Coats and Clark sometimes.

I like to use Gutterman.
Love those polka dots! As for thread, for quilting I love King Tut. Don't like the price so much, but it is fabulous thread. For piecing I have had good luck with the Connecting Threads brand and love that the spools have lots of yardage and come in so many colors.
I'm glad I'm not the only one new enough not to have a favorite. I use Gutterman but am really curious to try invisible nylon thread for binding.
I use Aurifil (green spool) almost exclusively for machine quilting. It's also fabulous for stitching down the back of the binding - it hardly ever twists/knots and glides through the fabric. If I ever run out, I use Gutterman 100% cotton thread. Cheers for hosting a give away today!
I use a lot of Mettler, mainly because that is what I have. Have wanted to try Aurifil.
Thanks for the giveaway! My favorite thread is Gutterman (sp?) but I also buy thread from Connecting Threads. I just bought some over the weekend in gray and persimmon. Thanks again!
I just buy C&C, even though sometimes it makes me sad. :(
If I could afford it I'd probably buy Aurifil but mostly use Rasant! My sewing machine mechanic recommends it so it can't be all bad!
I've used Gutermann for a long time, occasionally Coats & Clark, mainly because that's what's available where I live. Thanks for chance to win! (EMAIL: marshudson at comcast dot net)
I like Gutterman but haven't tried many others, so it's not a definitive favorite.
I like using King Tut for quilting
I prefer Gutterman, but I end up using coats and clark a lot because it's cheaper.
rebekahricker (at) yahoo (dot) com
Thanks for this chance....I haven't tried a lot of threads. For hand quilting I love YLI...Ithink that's right. I have a great machine quilting thread that my husband bought me for Christmas...can't remember the name though...it starts out with Bear......lol.sorry. Do you know it???...I love it!!
Lovely giveaway! My favourite thread is Aurifil #50 cotton thread.
Thanks!❤
My favorite thread is Aurifil!
amyd14_1999@yahoo.com
I have always used Gutterman. Would love to try Connecting Threads Essentials. Thanks, Jera
Don't really have a favorite, really like Aurifil, and Gutterman, mostly depends on who has color I need.
My machine prefers Mettler, but I also buy Guiterman...depends on what I can afford at the time I'm in need of a big spool of neutral.
I am an Aurifil convert....
Thanks for the chance!!! For piecing I like Auriful and for fun quilting I like to use King Tut.
I don't have a favorite thread. I use Gutermann a lot.
I stick with traditional Gutermann, it is so nice to use on my machine!
I like Gutterman, but have been wanting to try Connecting Thread's.
I like Aurifil 50wt for piecing and FM quilting - they have a good range of solids and variegated colours. I also like Gunold Sulky 40 which is a polyester. This range has some very subtle variegated colours which blend beautifully.
I like Aurifil thread, before that it was Coats and Clark.
I don't have too varied of thread experience. I do prefer King tut over Gutterman. I have used some Sulky for decorative stitching and really liked it. I think the sulky was a viscose fiber.
You know my answer already: Aurifil all the way!
Aurifil for everything!
Thanks for the giveaway!
melissajpalmer at yahoo dot com
I usually use Gutermann 919 off-white because Ihaven't had the 'aurifil' experience yet!!! Great giveaway :)
I usually use Gutermann. Thank you for the giveaway, cheers, Monika.
I always used Gutermann, until I was recently introduced to Aurifil, now I love that the most.
Gutterman is a fav
Any brand as long as the color works.
My favourite threads are Gutermann and Madeira :)
Thanks for the giveaway!
Best wishes,
Tatyana
I'm new to quilting so I haven't used enough different threads to have a favorite.
I piece with Coats and Clarks 100% cotton thread. My favorite color is medium grey. I'd like to try Connecting Threads thread. Thanks for the giveaway.
I always buy the coats and clark regular thread.
kirkwood0419(at)hotmail(dot)com
I really enjoy using Connecting Threads for quilting. Thanks for the chance!
I don't really have a favourite but tend to buy Coats and Clark! Thanks for hosting
I don't have a favourite thread yet. I am still playing and seeing what I like best. Thanks for the chance
I haven't tried a lot of threads, but I usually prefer Gutterman over Coats and Clark! Thanks for the giveaway!
i am a gutterman girl
I don't have a favorite thread yet. I'm still new and just use what I've gotten from my grandma.
I like the Connecting Threads thread. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.
I like Gutterman thread but I don't have very much experience with other brands.
I have some DMC sewing machine thread my Grandma got in Alsace, France that I love to use!
ohhh scrummy!! I've been using up all the old threads my mum gave me recently ;) but in general I like Gutterman Sulky, Mettler silk finish and Aurifil!
Thankfully the only thread my machine won't tolerate seems to be the invisible stuff (and even then I probably just need to tweak things). My favorite brands are Mettler and Aurifil, both in cotton. I do use Gutterman thread as well, but its not nearly as lustrous as the other two. :)
I'm kind of clueless when it comes to thread, I guess I just buy what's available.
So far my favorite is Conncting Treads. It has worked well for all my sewing needs and the selection and price is great.
I'm not sure what my favorite thread is...I am still in the process of trying so many. I have one spool of Aurifil. I bought a spool from Connecting Threads, but I haven't tried it yet. I do like Mettler, too, but it comes in such small spools (at least where I'm shopping)
I really like the Essential Threads from Connecting Threads. They work really well with my machine and seem less fuzzy than others I've used.
I love Connecting Threads! I want to stock up on "natural" next time they go on sale.
I use coats cotton, I think it is a uk line, I use it because it is all I can afford!
I use Gutermann
There aren't many choices here but I try to use Gutterman if I can get it.
although I have ahuge array of threads, I think the nicest is aurifil.
I do like Connecting Threads thread. I wish they would bring back the varigated thread :-(
Hmmm, I'm supposed to have a favorite thread? Guess I had better be trying some out to see the difference!
Gutterman so far, but willing to try new ones!
My favorite thread is Coats & Clark's Dual Duty Plus.
I don't have a favorite thread manufacturer... just whatever matches whatever I'm doing at the time!
I'm all over the place - I match colors even if I have to change manufacturers.
I mostly use Superior Threads for my quilting and sewing.
I mostly used Coats and Clarks. :) I guess there is a world of thread out there to try!
brooke at richardchurch dot com
I usually use Coats and Clarks.
mframe00@gmail.com
Gutterman. Thanks for the giveaway!
I don't have any favorite thread. But I do recommend Aurifil :)
I have only used Gutterman and Coats and Clarks. I think I like Gutterman better.
I'm not a user of any one particular thread. Still trying a few out to see what works best for me! Thanks!
All I've used is C&C, Gutterman and Mettler. I do see a difference of less lint but not a lot else.
i like C&C
I use Gutterman a lot. I don't know that I have a favorite but I'm not a big fan of Mettler. It seems to break on me.
I like gutterman the most so far.
Still learning the world of thread , don't have a fav yet
I use Gutterman a lot, but never had problems from Coats & Clark.
I'm a brand new quilter so I don't have a favorite yet. I keep reading about Aurifil and Superior. I guess I need to start testing! Thanks!
I don't know much about thread either!
Aurifil for piecing and Sulky for playing.
Sulky. Thanks for giveaway.
no favorite one, whatever I can grab on sale at the store. Or my favorite thread would be the one that I don't have to rip it and redo. :)
wcharp6739(at)att(dot)net
Depends on what I'm sewing but usually I can use the regular Coats & Clarks mercerized for everything, Aurifil if it is something special. Thanks for the giveaway!
I'm so new I don't have a favorite yet...but I keep hearing that Aurifil is the best.
shel704 at aol dot com
I have only used Guterman thread so far & would love to experiment with other brands. Thanks for the lovely giveaway (I'm a follower who really enjoys your blog posts).
At the moment I use Gutterman because that's what my mum always used :)
I love dmc threads.
:-)
Katz.gali(at)gmail.com
I'm a new quilter, just starting my first quilt. I'm using vintage thread from my boyfriend's grandmother's stash, mostly old DMC cottons. I don't know if they're a favourite, but they're the only ones I've used so far (and there's enough to keep me going for a while!).
I like Madeira Monofilament
I like Madeira Monofilament
I love the gutermann threads.
Love the gutermann and aurifil. Use ribons when I embroidery :-)
I've always just used Guterman... Had no idea there were even options! Then again, I've always just stuck to what I know. I'm off to learn more about threads! Thanks for the chance to win.
Guterman currently but Aurifil is turning my head!
I've always used Gutterman, but recently I got my hands on some Aurifil and I love it!
I usually end up with Coats and Clark, because it's the cheapest...
I am new at quilting only been doing so 5 months and so far I know a few not too buy. I really need to take a class or read more on threads and why and what to pick. I know cheap is not what you pick but not sure what to pick ether.
http://richardquilts.blogspot.com
I don't have a favorite thread yet--I'm a new quilter, and haven't tried many different threads yet. Thanks for the chance to win!
I don't think I really have a favorite type of thread. I never really thought about it before.
I usually use the Gutterman 100% poly.
aurifil is my favorite
I am no professional so I just use whatever I get my hands on and is the color I need!
I love gutermann, as it never fluffs up my machine and almost never breaks!
alice.wilson.awesome@gmail.com
I use a lot of thread from Connecting Threads b/c it's cheap!
kell22 @ cox.net
Gutterman is my favorite thread; thank you for the giveaway!
Coats and Clark
aurofil, I have to buy online, for piecing and perle for hand quilting
Hmmm- Aurofil.
I am so new to quilting that I don't have a favorite thread yet! Still researching all of the options!
I like gutterman and coats and clark.
Connecting Threads is awesome! Their thread rocks and at a great price so I can afford more fabric:-) See....I have priorities....
I like gutter man for piecing and aurifil for hand appliqué.
I still have no favourite.. i am a beginner.
have a nice week and thank you.
My favorite thread is Aurifil. Thanks for the chance to win! :)
I like to try all kinds of thread but I like Bottom Line for my bobbin when quilting.
I love mettler.
• • • I love So Fine, but my machine doesn't. :(
I'd have to say my favorite thread by default is the 100 % Coats and Clark because that's all I've used so far. I'd like to try other kinds but I figure I should use up what I've got first.
I don't really have a favourite thread, but I do love embroidery floss
Would love to win a new thread! I just managed to get my hands on a spool of Aurifil for the first time and I'm excited :)
I really love Gutermann thread - and more importantly, so does my sewing machine!
I honestly just bought my first sewing machine in november. sulky was recommended to me and so that's what i use...
I've been using Superior threads since March. I'm still trying to decide. It messes up my tension but once I get that straight, it really sews like a dream and there is very little lint, it's almost unreal. I really love their Silk thread but it's so expensive that I can't use it, only for really, really special projects.
The only thread I have used so far is good old Coats & Clark cotton covered poly. I have not had any issues using it. Thank you for the giveaway.
I like Coats and Clarke, but that really is all I have used! mjalfano19@gmail.com
coats & clark has always worked wonderfully for me.
i have no specific threads preference. thanks for the chance.
waipueyyee AT gmail DOT com
I don't have a favorite thread yet as I am still trying to find it. thanks for the giveaway!
I love Gutermann All purpose thread in an off white. i find I can use it for pretty much everything.
use gutermann all purpose in a light grey for almost everything, but use a white bobbin thread in my bobbins. works for me. want to try some other things, though. thanks for the opportunity and have a great day
I like Madeira the most but also use Marathon
I use Gutterman, but am switching to Rasant. Thanks for the chance to win...
I do not have a favorite thread - my machine seems to be pretty flexible and ok with me using less than the top-of-the-line expenseive threads, which is what I have done up until now. Thanks for the chance to win!
I use the 1200 yard spools of 100% cotton, whether it's Coats and Clark, Star, or Essential brand.
I don't think i have a favorite...I use whatever my quilt shop has in stock. I've heard alot about the Aurafil and would love to try that.
I don't think I have a favorite thread yet. I always get whatever is at Hobby Lobby.
peachstateme (at) hotmail (dot) com
I don't really have a favourite. I tend to use mid range threads but never cheap (no worth the trouble and when I make things I want them to last)
I mostly use Coats & Clark but I have some Gutermann that I really like.
Gutterman gets my vote. I'm just trying Aurafil, and from all I've heard it just might take the lead.
Thanks for this chance!
I definitely prefer Gutterman! Thanks for the giveaway - love that fabric!!
Gutterman. When I started sewing I didn't know that it would make such a difference, but it does! Never again cheap thread!
I use Gutterman for just about everything!
I use Güterman it has always been the standard thread at home.. I never much thought about any other threads...
My fave thread is one I found at Value Village. The label has come off, so I don't know what it is, but it has nice tension and doesn't mess up in my machine like some cheaper threads do.
For some reason my machine seems to prefer Coats and Clark so that's what I go with!
I almost always use Essentials from Connecting Threads. I love it and it is a bargain.
When I buy thread, I generally choose Guterman, but most often, I pick up old thread while thrifting and enjoy using whatever I find.
winterwrens at gmail dot com
I got a pack of Madeira at the Houston Quilt Show last year and have really liked it for colors - but still use Coats & Clark for my regular white thread.
I buy most of my thread from Connecting Threads - great price and the spools are huge!
ourbusylittlebunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
I like gutterman or sulkey
beth(dot)sebastian(at)gmail(dot)com
Thank you for the giveaway! I seem to still be mostly using garment threads for quilting - so Gutterman is what ends up on most of my stuff, as I love how you can match anything with it!
I like Essentials and then King Tut.
Just the basics. I use Mettler all-purpose for sewing.
I always use Gutermann - it seems to be the only thread that my machine handles really well.
I mostly use Gutterman. But am still trying different threads.
coats and clark
Sadly, no favourite yet!
I have no favorite thread but have been hearing about aurifil and essential threads and would love to try them.
I've had good results with C&C XP, Gutterman and Sulky. I've got some YLI to try, but never tried Essential.
My machine decided it no longer liked C&C, so I switched to Gutterman since that is what is available at my local craft shops. I've been thinking about trying out a few other brands as well.
anna [at] 64colorbox [dot] com
I don't have a favorite brand I just use whatever has the perfect color! Teehee Thanks so much for the post ^^
When I can afford it, I love to use Aurifil!
Aurifil
C&C is most accessible so we get it at Wal-Mart in a pinch. My favorite is Connecting Threads. I use it for handsewing too. I do not have Slate so would be great to win.
I'm not a thread expert yet, but I use Gutterman a lot. carrie dot hare@gmail.com
My favorite thread is the one that works for the project at hand.
