Pretty Little Things ~ top finished

This little top came together very quickly using this wonky cross tutorial, and the lovely Pretty Little Things fabric.  I second guessed choosing not to add any solid fabric, because let's face it, this fabric line is pretty busy, but somehow it just works.

The quilt will finish at about 33" x 50", a perfect baby size in my opinion.  And I hope to use a fleece or minky backing for this one, as an experiment to see how it goes on a small quilt before attempting that kind of backing on a larger quilt (ie. my Brrr! quilt!).

Today I'm linking up with Finish it Up Friday @ Crazy Mom Quilts, and TGIFF being hosted this week by Nat @ Made in Home.

This is so sweet, Heather! I have some minky waiting to become a quilt back, and it's a little scary!

This is so sweet, I love it! Don't be scared of the minky, it's really not that bad. My main advice would be to very carefully tape the minky to the floor when you are basting. You want it pulled flat without stretching it. If you can get that part done it really isn't hard to work with!

You totally made the right call on the solids - I like to temper busy with solids, too, but you're completely right that these fabrics just work.

It's gorgeous.

You know I love this one! I have quilted with minky before and I had no trouble with it whatsoever. I pin-basted like I always do and have done both straight-line and fmq on it with no issues. Good luck!
