Have It All Wallet ~ take 2

My second Have It All Wallet is finished.  I swapped the first one that I made, and this one is for me.

This wallet holds a ton of stuff - cash, cards, chequebook, coins, and there's even room for an iPod or a phone.

If you read my post earlier today you'll know that I was struggling to top-stitch around the edge of the wallet.  It isn't necessary, and I didn't do top-stitching on the first version of this wallet, but I wanted to try it on this one and my machine just wouldn't do it!  I tried a few times, adjusting different things, but no dice.  The wallet is totally fine without it, it just bugs me that my machine is rebelling!  If I had to top-stitch, I wouldn't be able to.  Oh well, moving on....a silver lining is that if I top-stitched I wouldn't be able to fit two cards in each card slot.  :)

Have a wonderful day!

I like the wallet, Heather!

Did you try using a size 16 needle to do your topstitching?

Really pretty pouch! That's annoying about the top-stitching. Did you try using a walking foot? I find that helps me sew through lots of layers on my machine.

Gorgeous - looks great without the top stitching. I may have to buy this pattern :) And I love seeing the CDN bucks in there!!

It's beautiful, Heather! The fabrics you chose are so cheerful. It's nice to bring beauty to an everyday item.
Sorry to hear about the topstitching. I've had my machine rebel before too when there are too many layers. Did you use a walking foot?

Weird about the top-stitching, but in spite of that, it turned out great - just really darling! Good for you!! Looks very usable!

It's beautiful Heather...no top stitching necessary but would you be able to do it with a walking foot?

It turned out wonderfully Heather! Great finish. I may have to make one of these soon since I continue to drool over yours each time you make one haha

So cute! I have had that problem once or twice with really bulky projects. Top stitching is nice, but if your machine struggles it doesn't look good anyway so I say just skip it!

Gorgeous finish, Heather! I love using a pretty fabric wallet and yours is so fresh and lovely.

Sorry about the troubles with topstitching through the layers. I left a suggestion that might help - let me know if you need me to explain more clearly. :o)

Happy weekend to you!

The wallet turned out great - so complicated with all those wonderful places to stash things. Better to listen to your machine than to make it unhappy I always say.
