My sewing time this week has mostly been spent finishing up these pillow tops. I sandwiched them with really thin batting & muslin backs, then proceeded to add some pretty basic straight line quilting on each. I really like how they turned out, and now I have to wait for the Reunion Sally's Skirt that I ordered to arrive, which I will use for finishing the backs of the pillow covers. Can't wait to get these on the couch!
Next up, the postage stamp quilt that I've been working on for quite a while. The patchwork portion has been done for a few months but I've been deliberating about borders and binding, here and here. All those bright flashy colours, and in the end I decided to go with this:
I feel almost like I chickened out with this choice of an off-white background and medium green binding (these aren't Kona solids, but greatly resemble 'Snow' and 'Grass'), but I'm not a super flashy person, the patchwork itself is fairly flashy to being with (the photo doesn't do it justice), and well, my gut was telling me to go neutral on the borders so that's what I'll do.
Upcoming/no progress:
- "Fast Forward" quilt - needs to be basted, quilted and bound
- Sweetwater Pure strip quilt - needs narrow borders added to the top, then baste/quilt/bind
- pillow cases for our bed to match Swoon, using Hometown Preppy Plaid
- consider getting something together for Giveaway Day @ Sew Mama Sew

Your pillow tops look amazing! And I really love your postage stamp quilt and how the postage stamps are off-set. Very cool!
Gorgeous pillows and I love the postage stamp quilt. I always fall back on either Kona white or Ash :)
The pillow covers look great! And I think the postage will look pretty cool on white. All that space to fill with quilting!!
I love the neutral border on your postage stamp quilt! It looks really cool!
Going with your gut is being true to you. It looks awesome & love that negative space! Also love the backing you chose for your pillows - they are really nice!
in the end, its what you choose! glad you made a decision and you're happy with it, can't wait to see the completed quilt, it's going to be fabulous!
Such gorgeousness, the cushion covers look wonderful! The border and binding you chose will be perfect for your postage stamps, and honestly I like how the brightness pops against the neutral - a very good choice, well done gut :)
Those pillows are just awesome! I think your layout is just perfect, really lets the postage stamp part shine!
You know I think those cushions are fabulous already, but I have to say that I really like your choice for the white border around the postage stamps. That and the green binding are just right!
Those pillows are beautiful and really compliment each other, and love the postage stamp quilt - so bright and cheerful.
The pillows are beautiful and I like your colour choice for the postage stamp as it lets the colour stamps stand out

I love your pillows. The colors on the postage quilt are fabulous.
The pillows look great, Heather! Matching but not the same - I like it!
I like the postage stamp quilt too. glad you went with your gut. Now you'll like it when you're finished.
Of course, I love the pillows! I don't think you chickened out at all, Heather. The off white really showcases the beaut of the postage stamps!
Love your choice of sweet water fabrics in your pillows.
ALways trust your gut.
